Position Summary:

Director, DCV Outcome Liaison Strategic Operations and Field Excellence reports to the Lead, DCV Outcome Liaison Team. The DCV Outcomes Liaison Team is a national team of highly qualified scientists who provide scientific information to drive and differentiate DCV products and disease states to the payors, PBMs and other large population-based decision making organized customer groups (PBDM OCGs) in the US. The OL Team’s primary function is field-focused through scientific exchange that translates DCV-related HEOR and clinical information into relevant scientific value-based discussions for PBDM OCGs. The OL Team supports Sanofi DCV commitment to build strong relationships with healthcare professionals, patients, advocacy scientific exchange that translates DCV-related HEOR and clinical information into relevant scientific value-based discussions for PBDM OCGs.

The individual must have the ability to:

  • Understand and have led medical and business strategy to drive the implementation of integral medical and outcomes plans that supports franchise goals of organization/BU.

  • Drive development and implementation of unique DCV Outcome Liaison tactics/concepts for consideration.

  • Communicate the impact and value of the OL team internally to key stakeholders

  • Leads and ensures the OL team translates HEOR and medical information into relevant and appropriate information and tools for all types of assigned accounts based on OL deep understanding of the different medical and business needs of various customer segments.

  • Collaborate with all Sanofi counterparts with a ONE Team mindset

This position will work with the DCV OL team and other relevant internal stakeholders to develop and implement field excellence initiatives, lead coordination of OL training in partnership with relevant internal stakeholders, provide oversight/management of systems and process (e.g., CRM, content management, LMS, Sharepoint), help develop/implement KPIs while supporting analytics/reporting, support development of field digital strategy and resources, and oversee coordination of team meetings and communications.

This position may be field or home office based.

General Roles and Responsibilities for US:

  • Leads development, coordination, and implementation of OL excellence initiatives (e.g., field standards, enhancement of systems/processes, career paths, training curriculum, benchmarking and qualitative assessment of OL initiatives/performance, etc.) to drive consistency and efficiency of processes across the OL team, ensure that team processes align with systems, and identify/recommend/support process improvement opportunities.

  • Oversees training for the DCV OL team and provides input and support towards development of appropriate product specific tools and tactics that enhance the dissemination of key medical, scientific and health outcomes information.

  • Oversees onboarding of new hires

  • Supports development and implementation of DCV OL KPIs, and efficient methods for capturing and reporting using CRM and other systems.

  • Provides day-to-day oversight/administration and support for team systems and process, working with relevant internal stakeholders (e.g., CRM, Sharepoint, content management library, LMS, etc.)

  • Leverages industry knowledge including tools and systems to provide DCV OLs with the resources they need to define target accounts, understand preferred methods of engagement, and develop best practice for scientific exchange.

  • Supports Lead, DCV OL in the coordination of team meetings and formal communications, enhancing cross functional alignment and collaboration

  • Supports project management for key initiatives, supporting project requirements mapping, vendor assessment/selection, tracking of project milestones and appropriate documentation (e.g.CDBRs)

  • Oversees process and reporting for OL activities/initiatives (e.g., field insights reports, KPIs, Quarterly MIR reports, Field Coaching reports, team performance dashboards).

  • Support the integration of customer insight in shaping medical strategies, tactics, tools, approaches and business intelligence.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Requirements: An advanced degree in medical sciences, biology, pharmacy, chemistry, nursing or a related field is required. An MD, PharmD or PhD in medical sciences is preferred.

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a scientific or clinical setting.

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a clinical/medical science liaison in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries.

  • Must have experience in leadership of home office and field-based medical teams

  • Must have experience in developing field-based communications, strategy, tools and training with measurable impact

  • Experience in project management, information technology, analytics, training/development, and process improvement methodology are highly desirable.

  • CV and diabetes therapeutic area expertise preferred

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical/healthcare market, acceptable practices and related regulations is required.

  • Must have an advanced understanding of clinical/medical science; Health Outcomes experience is preferred.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Management of field-based team is preferred

  • Strong planning and tracking skills, well-organized, focused on results, capable of managing multiple projects with respect to priorities and self-management.

  • Experience in managing vendors and external business partners.

  • Candidate will have an in depth knowledge of Medical Affairs organizations and specifically the field medical function including related operating processes, systems, policies, procedures and regulations.

  • A strong working knowledge of business processes and systems, including strategic planning and budgeting, is highly desirable.

  • Awareness/understanding of field systems and process desirable (e.g., CRM, content management solutions).

  • Candidate must possess exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, excellent organizational time management skills, and the ability to lead, collaborate and align with diverse, cross-functional matrix teams.

  • Understanding of pharmaceutical or biotechnical regulated environments and functions

  • Analytical and detail oriented, well developed organizational skills, pragmatic in solving problems

Additional Professional Skills and Requirements:

  • Travel will be required for team meetings and other company functions. If field based, the position will require the candidate to assess and determine an appropriate level of home office engagement for effective collaboration with internal stakeholders.

  • Ability to lead project management initiatives and process improvement
