About the job

As Lead RSV for Germany you will be responsible for developing and executing a local strategic business plan for the commercialization of Sanofi Pasteur’s RSV immunization in development. You will lead a large cross-functional local launch team and associated sub-teams positioning Sanofi Pasteur to Play-to-Win in the highly competitive RSV prevention market that is currently emerging. Multiple manufacturers are developing RSV immunization candidates to address an unmet medical need.

You will define emerging positions of 2 direct reports who you will recruit and hire and be responsible for making recommendations moving forward to further build the marketing team and cross-functional team including MSL and Sales force, to secure the resources needed to establish SP’s leadership in the RSV immunization market.

The role requires impactful marketing execution in Rx Drug, Vaccines as well as Disease Awareness and Consumer (Parent) Marketing as well as related Market Access and Innovation-launch challenges.

The RSV candidate for immunization is being developed in partnership with another manufacturer (AstraZeneca), and close coordination with the Sanofi Pasteur Global Brand Team is required.

Main responsibilities:

  • As a manager, you are responsible for the implementation of legal and company-internal HSE guidelines to prevent occupational accidents and diseases within your area of responsibility.

  • You will establish successfully mAb immunization as the standard prevention in all infant an also establish the medical & economic value of nirsevimab for all infants

  • You will coordinate activities with Medical Affairs, Value & Access, Heor/ EbM, Public Affairs, Market Research, internal and external Communication, Competitive Intelligence, MSL and Sales to align the local strategy and execution of the commercialization plan

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive and proficient understanding of the emerging science of RSV, Sanofi Pasteur, and competitors’ vaccines, market dynamics, HCP and patient attitudes and behaviors, and play a key role in facilitating this learning across the organization.

  • Decide on the optimal promotion, digital tools or channels and other vehicles to communicate disease and brand and within organizational, regulatory and ethical boundaries

  • Collaboration with Market Access and other Franchise Teams to develop a pricing & contracting strategy that considers existing local Health Care Options and opportunities and engagement for opening future ones

  • You will provide input into the development of medical education, post-marketing studies, KOL and publication strategies and also develop and initiate market research to support strategic decision making

  • Oversee product demand forecasts to Manufacturing Operations and provide business input to the operations plan regarding Fill-Finish, Packaging, and Materials Management

  • Manage brand marketing budget, individual project budgets and develop quarterly, annual and long-range sales and expense forecasts. Advise on annual planning, priority setting and budget allocation. Monitor business results against stated objectives and initiates corrective actions

About you

Education and professional experience:

  • Master’s degree in life sciences, marketing or business

  • A minimum of 10+ years sales and marketing combined experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical/ vaccines industries

  • People management experience with a track record of coaching and developing diverse teams

Technical and soft skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Analytical and forward thinker, strong strategic thinking, strong leadership skills, results-oriented, self-organized and self-starter

  • Ability to operate in complex matrix environment, and ability to build sustainable social relationships within and outside the organization, and to work effectively across Sanofi BUs

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic market situation and positively lead despite significant ambiguity

  • Ability to maintain focus on activities and provide clear direction and coordination

  • Launch experience in a leadership/management position.


  • Business fluency in English and German
