Sanofi Group Senior Director, Omni-Channel, Walmart Team - CHC in Bentonville, Arkansas


The Sanofi CHC Sr. Director eCommerce for Walmart is the primary strategic leader for developing the Omnichannel eCommerce business at Walmart, which includes and Grocery Pickup. This role will lead a comprehensive Omni eCommerce business plan at this customer, as well as provide direction, leadership and capability development for the entire sales and marketing team responsible for Walmart business. This role will have a direct and vital impact on the company’s future growth and success, as we build our Omni eCommerce expertise at Sanofi’s largest customer Walmart, and with the digital consumer. This individual should have a passion to win with our brands with Walmart’s online and pick up consumer, in order to win with all Walmart consumers, as well as a curiosity and drive to stay ahead of trends in this space as a valuable partner with Walmart. We will refer to retailers as “partners” vs. “customers” – they are our partners in service of our customers. As such, you embrace Walmart’s purpose to save people money so they can live better and collaborate across their enterprise to leverage Sanofi CHC Health Care brands and capabilities for mutual benefit.

About the Team that the Director of eCommerce Leads

The Walmart Team Retail Sales organization is a critical function that drives the Sanofi brand strategies and growth at Walmart across their formats. The Consumer Health Care Sales organization is responsible for all partner development activities, cultivating relationships across all functions – merchandising, marketing, store operations, supply chain, finance and omnichannel development. Your knowledge about the Consumer Health Care portfolio of brands – combined with your deep expertise on current and future Omnichannel eCommerce initiatives and trends - will enable you to develop solutions that monetize value for Walmart and Sanofi CHC brands, and discover new connections with the Omni eCommerce consumer.

Core Responsibilities

  • Leverage the Sanofi North America CHC strategy to develop Sanofi’s portfolio with Walmart, to include delivering budgeted sales revenue, innovation sales, category share, profitability, and supply chain goals.

  • Your unique area of focus is to ensure that Sanofi strategies and plans are fully integrated across omnichannel and eCommerce, in addition to in-store.

  • You will lead our efforts to surround our partner with total solutions capability for in-store and on-line success.

  • Own the establishment and execution of our overall Omnichannel eCommerce vision and strategy to win with Walmart, to include collaborating to secure input, investment and support from internal cross-functional partners.

  • Validate our system to ensure that Sanofi brands own best-in-class content and messaging to the omni and eCommerce consumer, resulting in high levels of conversion and sales.

  • Build and foster relationships with Senior-level leadership at Walmart, including merchandising, marketing, supply chain and store operations.

  • This includes owning input into the Joint Value Creation plans and scorecard for the total portfolio and individual businesses, which encompasses our mutual growth targets and strategic investment areas for Sanofi Health Care across a 3-year timetable.

  • Build and foster relationships with Walmart’s Media Group, and position Sanofi as a lead partner for developing strong ROI for WMG programs, as well as a partner for testing new solutions to reach the Walmart customer online.

  • Ensure we have robust category-level Joint Business Plans with corresponding scorecards that represent mutually defined annual goals and achieve the online sales fundamental goals of assortment, merchandising, pricing and shelf, adapted to the online business.

  • Define and incorporate the necessary business questions and support from data analytics and shopper/consumer insights specifically for the Grocery Pickup and business.

  • Work internally with our partner to deliver sustained access to data for all Walmart formats, and to incorporate these into Sanofi scorecards

These characteristics describe you

  • A strong leader with demonstrated track-record for exhibiting an entrepreneurial spirit coupled with a general management mindset and capabilities.

  • Minimum of 10 years of proven delivery in CPG, preferably within OTC/Healthcare, and with significant experience working with retailers in support of their omni eCommerce business. Both top and bottom-line results required. Excellent business acumen; proficient category, segment and RX to OTC switching knowledge.

  • 3+ years of Walmart experience. Extensive macro U.S. trade channel experience to include shopper journeys, eComm, syndicated and shopper data.

  • You lead brilliantly, are self-motivated, and inspire others when facing highly ambiguous, complex situations.

  • Curiosity and passion for creating breakthrough moments in Omni eCommerce merchandising, advertising and conversion.

  • A model of collaborative behavior and execution in delivering great programming for Sanofi’s brands online and connecting that programming to stores to leverage synergy wherever the consumer chooses to buy.

  • Strong interpersonal, written/oral communication and presentation skills.

  • You are a learner - always seeking to improve yourself, your team, and the world around you. This is especially critical in the omni eComm space with the pace of rapid change.

  • B.A./B.S. required.

  • Valid Driver’s License required

Who you will work with

  • You'll work most closely with key Walmart leadership and contacts, Sales Strategy for go-to-market planning, Demand Planning and Logistics for operational and fulfillment needs, R&D for product and display design needs, Sales Finance for forecasting and Marketing for brand strategy and innovation.

  • You will also work with Marketing and the Walmart Media Group as digital media becomes an increasingly important focus area for our partner.

  • You report to the Walmart VP of Sales at Sanofi CHC and be a visible part of the Walmart leadership team.

The successful candidate will be required to sign and execute a restricted covenant upon hire.
