Sanofi Group CHC Walmart Director of Customer Supply Chain in Bentonville, Arkansas


The Director of Walmart Customer Supply Chain is the primary supply chain planning and logistics strategic thought leader for the Walmart customer account team. This role will lead the key supply chain elements of the joint business plan and will have a direct and vital impact on driving innovation and scale for our portfolio while significantly broadening the awareness, trial potential, and efficiency for the overall business. This role is a critical partner to the Team Leader for the business and will personally develop strong relationships with the supply chain, operations and logistics leaders at Walmart. The Director of Walmart Customer Supply Chain will also collaborate across the cross-functional team internally to help design and implement omni-channel strategic plans with innovative supply chain solutions that fit with customer initiatives to deliver value to their shoppers wherever and whenever they wish to shop. The customer supply chain organization will play a critical role in helping the customer team in delivering against their shared goals and objectives.

The Director of Customer Supply Chain has the following objectives:

  • Own the establishment and execution of the overall Customer Supply Chain strategy to win, which includes collaborating with internal and customer partners to secure input, investment and support

  • Play a key leadership role with the customer sales leader to drive the overall Joint Business Plan and ensure strong integration of supply chain solutions/capabilities to grow the business and create value, both in-store and on-line

  • Influence and secure Sanofi investment in supply chain tools and solutions to deliver better planning and execution results

  • Build and foster relationships with supply chain and store operations leadership at Walmart

  • Provide process guidance and functional expertise to the field-level planning and forecasting processes and ensure strong alignment to the overall S&OP process at Sanofi CHC.

  • Establish and manage robust Health Care and Personal Care supply chain scorecards that represent mutually defined annual goals and achieve the critical on-time/in-full, on-shelf availability, cash/inventory, as well as other key metrics

  • Hire and develop customer supply chain resources while enhancing the supply chain planning and logistics capabilities offered by the team

  • Create a culture in which the customer supply chain resources partner with sales to drive sustainable growth with Walmart

  • Anticipate and resolve customer, supply chain or commercial issues

  • Help to drive standardized tools, measures and customer supply chain work processes across all the customer teams

  • Work with Walmart to maintain replenishment settings that facilitate efficient order flow through Sanofi’s supply chain and Walmart’s supply chain, optimizing inventory and subsequently sales

  • Work with internal Sanofi teams to ensure compliance to Walmart’s OTIF guidelines, analyzing gaps and identifying ways to improve performance at lane level

  • Continue to adapt Sanofi’s Walmart-specific replenishment analysis processes with Walmart’s ever-changing expectations to continue to challenge Walmart for ways to utilize systems to more fully meet demand

  • Ensure Sanofi’s compliance to Walmart Replenishment’s expected weekly reporting for each respective department

  • Lead analysis process to continually research seasonal build effectiveness for each seasonal business, giving Replenishment Managers detailed suggestions on ways to optimize build for each category

  • Lead process to analyze seasonal impact of outside trends/data sources on replenishment metrics in and out of season, making proactive suggestions to Replenishment Managers to drive inventory where demand is expected

Qual i fic a tio n s

  • B.A. / B.S. degree required

Exper i en c e

  • 10+ years of experience across multiple areas of the supply chain, including extensive familiarity with Walmart systems (Retail Link Decision Support, GRS & SMART systems), supply chain planning and forecasting, and product flow


  • A strong leader with demonstrated track-record for delivering results, developing capabilities, exceeding goals and is recognized as an expert in delivering breakthrough and innovative solutions

  • Recognized for supply chain and logistics mastery. This includes knowledge of current and evolving CPG industry wide solutions used by all Sanofi CHC customers

  • Lead and inspire others when facing highly ambiguous, complex situations

  • Ability to manage and develop team members

  • Model collaborative behavior and execution with a proven ability to influence and lead in multi-functional environments

  • Eager to improve oneself, the immediate team, and the greater community

  • Extremely organized, dependable and self-motivated with the ability to leverage Excel and other planning tools in a fast-paced environment

  • Utilizes effective, professional communications to cultivate strong working relationships with both internal and external colleagues; displays flexibility in your approach to people and situation

The successful candidate will be required to sign and execute a restricted covenant upon hire.
