Sanofi Group Associate Director of Specialty Pharmacy in Allston, Massachusetts

The Associate Director will report into the Cambridge based Director, Trade Strategy & Operations & be a key contributor to the RD (Rare Disease) Franchise, with specific brand responsibilities for RD products. This individual will work closely with Cambridge based individuals (data, operations, contracting, legal, etc.) as well as support the Specialty Care Account Management Team to provide the necessary in-network specialty pharmacy operational support across the RD therapeutic areas. This individual will work in close partnership with the overall One Trade team across specialty, wholesale & retail to ensure we continue to leverage all our best practices to implement winning strategies for our brands.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Managing the home office contracting redline team to execute and amend specialty pharmacy contracts for RD as necessary

  • Work with the Cambridge based & field account management team to ensure RD specialty pharmacies are measured on service level agreements per the SP contracts & are appropriately invoicing Sanofi for such services based on the SLAs

  • Accountable for supporting the RD SP Account Management Team for operational support on the pull through of cases to increase throughput and decrease TTF (time to fill)

  • Prepare & attend business reviews, industry meetings / conferences & internal POAs in support of the specialty pharmacy business (either back end operational support or customer meetings in tandem with the specialty care account management team which remains the lead to the account)

  • This individual will work closely with internal stakeholders such as Marketing, Market Access, Training, Medical, and Legal (as needed) to ensure one trade activities are coordinated and occur in accordance with brand strategies & company policy

  • Work with internal one trade partners on day-to-day SP distribution issues as well as the wholesaler strategy & operations team to ensure access to product is maintained

  • Maintain open & transparent communication throughout the company, especially in regards to BU, & cross BU initiatives with similar accounts

  • Apply strong judgment and oversight to ensure integrity and compliance with company policies in all activities and communications

Qualifications

Professional Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) required, advanced degree a plus

  • 5+ years of proven experience in in Specialty Pharmacy

  • RD or Specialty Product related therapeutic/distribution experience

  • Expert negotiation and influencing skills

  • Ability to communicate at a high level & establish rapport and build relationships with internal and external partners

  • Must have superior communication skills to sell ideas and programs both internally and externally; excellent verbal and presentation skills

  • Strong understanding and experience in different access and reimbursement models, including Parts B, D and Medicaid

  • Strong analytical skills are necessary

  • Strong project management capabilities including time and events, scenario and contingency planning, and ability to ensure on time and on budget delivery of outputs and deliverables

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with the medical/legal/regulatory submission & approval process to ensure appropriate review and timely delivery of materials

  • Understanding of the legal/regulatory environment and internal Sanofi legal/regulatory guidelines and processes

  • Ability to travel up to 30-40% a must

Primary Location:

United States – Massachusetts - Cambridge or ability to work from Cambridge office 3 days each week
